Colorado Elopement Among the Wildflowers

“You belong among the wildflowers /
You belong somewhere close to me /
Far away from your trouble and worries /
You belong somewhere you feel free.”
—Tom Petty, Wildflowers

We couldn’t agree more, and these lyrics encompass the spirit of eloping! There are many reasons to elope in western Colorado, but one that gets overlooked a little are the amazing mountain wildflowers that grow in the summer!

On this wildflower elopement blog, we’re featuring photos from Shea and Taylor’s special day. Their elopement ceremony was at one of our favorite wildflower spots, and we hiked through an aspen tree forest to get there. Plus, there is an idyllic “babbling brook” winding its way through the valley at this secret spot. It is magical!

Just like trying to time your elopement to have yellow aspen trees, finding the right time for wildflowers can be tricky. The best time to find them popping is June through August. However, different species bloom at different times, and at different elevations.

You may be thinking that it’s going to be hot then and it might, but if you elope in the morning in the mountain breeze, you will find the temperature to be just perfect!

One thing we want to stress, is that we stay on the trail and don’t trample (or pick) wildflowers. We merely set up your pictures to make it look like you are in the middle of them and I do that using creative angles!

If you want to elope in a field of wildflowers, I know some great places. We keep an eye on the weather and bloom, and will take you to the best spot for tons of wildflowers. My goal is to find a place that will WOW you when you get married there!

So, if your dream is to get married in a field of wildflowers, we have your back!

Please contact us about your elopement and I will guide you in the right direction with a good time and place to get married!
