A LOCAL couple making your elopement happen!
We are Joe & Rhonda Hendricks, the owners of Elope Telluride. We do it all here locally, from the photography to planning to location scouting. We’ve been married 16 years, and have a son named Austin! For 10 years, we worked hard to establish a successful wedding photography business in Nashville, TN before moving to Colorado. Joe was our principle photographer, and Rhonda ran the business side of things. However, after hundreds of weddings and lots of recognition, we felt something was missing in our lives.

We scratched that itch with a family road trip through the southwest, and it changed everything for us! So much, that we decided to sell our house, buy an Airstream and become full-time photography nomads! We ended up living in the Airstream for 2 years. Along the way, Joe fell in love with the adventure of landscape photography and we all fell in love with nature. When it was time for us to settle down again, we decided to live in western Colorado, because it’s in the middle of so many adventurous and beautiful locations!
It was here that we decided to shift our business from the stressful wedding industry, to adventure elopements! Joe combined his award-winning wedding photography, with his talent for landscapes… and mountain elopement photography fit like a glove.
What makes us different from other photography teams?
Unlike many photographers who advertise in western CO, we actually live here! We spend a lot of our down time exploring and location scouting, so we know the best elopement locations for our couples. Also…it’s just the two of us. This is our only job. We’re not a nationwide network of photographers and vendors; Joe takes every photo you see on our site and our blog. We give each couple full attention and our best client services!
For Joe, adventure elopements are the perfect blend of love and nature. Nature has a way of putting what’s most important front and center in your life. Helping you start your marriage off right, is what Joe is all about. Because he doesn’t have to email couples and worry about the planning details that Rhonda handles, he can 100% concentrate on having fun taking pictures of you! His attitude is infectious and you can tell he loves what he does from the second you meet him. Joe is a Navy veteran and served as a Photographer’s Mate, which taught him to be quick-thinking and ready for any situation!
Rhonda loves planning the details of your elopement, connecting you with trusted local vendors, and emailing with you to help make it the best day! Because she doesn’t have to worry about photography, she’s able to respond quickly and assist with whatever you need. She also handles our social media and administrative stuff. Every photographer wishes they had a Rhonda!
