Romantic Western Elopement in Ridgway, Colorado

Courtney & Landon’s micro wedding with western vibes, was one of our favorites of 2020. This was because of their personal style, easygoing attitudes, and amazing locations! We are thrilled to have some advice from the bride herself, giving her thoughts about why they eloped, and how they planned it on a budget in Ridgway, Colorado. Be sure to read Courtney’s tips below!

From the bride: “We had been open to any location in Colorado but chose the San Juan Mountains because we were so incredibly impressed with Elope Telluride. We explained to Joe what were wanting and he picked the perfect location for us!”

“We had originally started planning a traditional wedding that would include family and friends. The planning was stressful and truthfully it did not feel like us. I have always dreamed of a small and intimate wedding surrounded by trees and mountains with family in attendance.”

The couple (from Lubbock, TX) had a lot of DIY elements to their elopement, which helped them save money. Courtney says she did her own hair, makeup, and faux flowers . Her dress and veil were from David’s Bridal, her gorgeous shawl from Sissily Designs (Etsy) and she got her jewelry on Amazon. The men wore Ralph Lauren vests, London Fog coats, and the groom wore a Hugo Boss suit. They all wore their own personal cowboy hats (love this!)

We (Joe and Rhonda) had just started watching the TV show “Yellowstone” a couple of weeks before Courtney & Landon’s elopement… needless to say we were ecstatic about the major Yellowstone vibes this group had! An early autumn snowfall added the perfect ambiance to their mountain backdrop.

The couple says, “We highly recommend eloping to everyone! It was stress free, intimate, and romantic! We both talk about our wedding being PERFECT and we wouldn’t change a single thing about it! We are so grateful for the experience and will cherish it forever!”

“We picked Colorado because it is beautiful and it made the most sense for our immediate family to travel to,” wrote Courtney. “I had been looking into multiple elopement companies and photographers in Colorado when I stumbled onto Elope Telluride. Everything about the pictures, pricing, and even the aesthetics of their webpage was perfect! We emailed, received a reply immediately, and ended up Zooming with Joe that evening! We loved him and knew right away that Elope Telluride was exactly who we wanted for our big day.”

Reviews like this make us SO HAPPY that we have this amazing job. It was so incredible to work with you, Landon & Courtney! (And the next time we pass through Lubbock, we’re all meeting at Chick-Fil-A for southwest salads!)
