Vikki and Mike's Sunrise Colorado Elopement
Vikki and Mike’s elopement was such a special day! They are amazingly genuine people, and we had an incredible day together hiking and exploring! We picked them up in Bruiser before dawn, and started driving up to one of our very favorite secret spots. We got there and started hiking immediately, trying to make it to the top before the sun crested over the mountains. The couple wanted to have a first look on top of the mountain, so Mike hiked ahead and luckily, had enough self-control to not turn around and peek at his bride! Their dogs played an important role in their elopement day, and we loved creating some unique images with the pups!
After their self-solemnized vow exchange, we hiked to a neighboring lookout point - which was very steep, but a million percent worth it for more 360-degree views!
Vikki says, “We drove out to Colorado from New Jersey and were so at peace knowing that our whole day was being taken care of. I was initially worried about planning an elopement 2,000 miles from home, but the second we met with Joe, I knew we made the right choice. Rhonda made sure to keep in touch and check in with me every step of the way. From consulting, to planning, to helping with vendors, to picking locations, they did it all! The actual day of the wedding was so easy and fun and turned out exactly as we wanted.”
As we rounded a corner during our hike, we were shocked to see a huge herd of sheep! It’s not uncommon in this part of Colorado, but we had no idea they would be up at 12,000 feet at this location. We kept our distance and didn’t approach the herd or the sheepdogs, and gave the shepherd a friendly wave… but of course got a couple of shots with the herd in the background! It definitely added to the natural experience of a mountain adventure elopement! (Comment below if you think we should add “Herd of Sheep” to our package add-on’s, haha!)
