Colorado Off-Roading Adventure Elopement

This is a true Colorado adventure elopement! Emily and Tommy “off-roaded” to their ceremony site at over 12,000 feet in elevation. Their parents were present to witness them exchange their vows lakeside, in front of the famous red peaks of the San Juan Mountains.

We met Emily, Tommy, and their parents at the base of the pass, and then rode up together. The drive is half the fun, right!? The couple still wanted to have the emotional moment of a first look. So Emily rode in the Jeep with Joe, while Tommy rode with their parents. Joe set up the first look after arriving at the ceremony location. The warm sun on their skin, the feel of the wind, and the colorful sunset filled their senses as they embraced as husband and wife!

Our favorite thing about elopements is that you can throw tradition out the window. After the ceremony, Emily & Tommy ate wedding cupcakes on the truck tailgate, played with their dogs, and did some fly fishing in their wedding attire. Then we took off in the Jeep to find some even higher peaks and turquoise alpine lakes!

One tip for a high elevation ceremony and photos….bring a jacket and layers! It’s windy on Colorado mountain passes (but it looks epic with a flowy dress!)

Elope Telluride’s “Adventure Elopement” package allows enough time for high alpine elopements. We also make sure we have fun stuff (yummy snacks, a cooler for your drinks, hiking poles) and also emergency gear like canned oxygen and gel packs. If you have questions about our packages, or how to plan an off-road adventure elopement like this one, just contact us!

Emily’s gorgeous wildflower bouquet was made by Alpenglow Growers Flower Farm, and Genica Lee did AMAZING bridal hair & makeup. Props to officiant Stephanie Warner for trekking to 12,000 feet to marry them!

So many gorgeous photos from this elopement wedding, so I’m just gonna stop talking and post them :)
