Telluride Proposal in the snow

When you think about proposing to your partner, where you get down on one knee is very important! The Elope Telluride team (myself, my wife Rhonda, and our vendor partners if needed) can help you plan an awesome proposal & capture amazing photos too.

You want it to be romantic, to be a surprise, and to show them you made a huge effort to make it special… because after all, they’re worth every once of effort it takes to ask them to be a part of the rest of your life!

Telluride is one of those places that you get to and you know instantly it’s where you want to pop the question! It’s beautiful here, it super romantic and there’s a lot of outdoor adventuring to do! If you plan ahead, you can hire me to take your pictures as you propose! The cool thing is, your partner will never know I’m there taking your pictures when you ask them to marry you!

Here is a recent proposal I shot a couple of weeks ago in Telluride! The groom contacted me about 4 weeks before he was coming into town. We discussed some ideas on where to do it and he chose the location that he knew the best. It was in front of the famous ski tree in the middle of town! It’s a very central location and something that can keep her focus off of what is about to happen.

Although we’ll talk on the phone to discuss the plan, I never meet anyone beforehand for proposals. Usually the guy emails me, reserves the date with a deposit, and we discuss all the details like location, timing, and how to be a Sneaky Pete. The day of, he tells me what they are wearing and I make sure I’m in position just in case it happens early. There’s a lot of emotions going on in the moment and I understand it may take you a second to get the nerve to actually propose. There’s no rush. When the moments happens, I’m there to capture it all! After you have time to soak it all up, I move in and introduce myself. During this last proposal, I could see that Allison was overwhelmed by the moment and needed some more time to take it in, so I told her and Colby to take their time and enjoy this moment. When you’re ready to go start taking celebration pictures, I’ll be ready.

Five minutes later, I took them both around Telluride, to some places they had never seen before. That’s the cool thing about Telluride is once you adventure out a little bit, there’s so much more to see! My job is to capture the moment and the romance of your visit here in Telluride.

So, enjoy the following pictures from Colby & Allison’s engagement. Know that when it comes to proposing here, anything is possible. As long as I can see you and not give myself away in the moment, we can make it happen!

If you are interested in having me capture your proposal, email me at joe@elopetelluride.com. I deliver your pictures in a couple of days, so you can have something to show your family and friends as soon as possible! You will receive an online gallery with no limit to the amount of pictures you get. The whole entire session from proposal till the end of photographing you usually lasts about an hour.

If you want to have an elopement or micro wedding in Telluride, and have a little more adventure than you would at a traditional wedding, that’s what we specialize in providing! I love going out with just the two of you, up in the mountains, and photographing you exchanging vows! It’s fun, it saves you some money and you get pictures that you will enjoy for the rest of your life!
